The National Institutes of Health "Share the Health"
Program Postponed
Heightened Security at NIH Postpones Popular Community Health Forum Featuring Free Health Seminars, Screenings, Wellness Workshops, Exhibits, and More

BETHESDA, Md. - The National Institutes of Health (NIH) postponed its fourth annual "Share the Health" community health forum today. This free event, entitled Share the Health: An Exposition of Health Resources from NIH to Its Neighbors, was scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 27, 2001 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Natcher Conference Center in Building 45 on the NIH campus. Due to heightened security at all federal facilities, NIH has cancelled weekend and evening events at Building 45 until further notice.

Sponsored by the NIH Office of Community Liaison, the event was designed to promote health through the prevention of disease by showcasing what NIH has to offer the community. It featured health seminars, blood pressure and stroke screenings, wellness workshops, exhibits by NIH institutes, computer demonstrations, family-friendly activities and more.

Event organizers are working to secure a new location and date for the event and expect to hold the event in the spring of 2002. For more information, call 301-650-8660 or visit http://sharethehealth.od.nih.gov.
