Program Postponed
Heightened Security at NIH Postpones Popular Community Health Forum Featuring Free Health Seminars, Screenings, Wellness Workshops, Exhibits, and MoreBETHESDA, Md. - The National Institutes of Health (NIH) postponed its fourth annual "Share the Health" community health forum today. This free event, entitled Share the Health: An Exposition of Health Resources from NIH to Its Neighbors, was scheduled to be held on Saturday, October 27, 2001 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Natcher Conference Center in Building 45 on the NIH campus. Due to heightened security at all federal facilities, NIH has cancelled weekend and evening events at Building 45 until further notice.
Sponsored by the NIH Office of Community Liaison, the event was designed to promote health through the prevention of disease by showcasing what NIH has to offer the community. It featured health seminars, blood pressure and stroke screenings, wellness workshops, exhibits by NIH institutes, computer demonstrations, family-friendly activities and more.

National Institutes of Health Shares Health Information With Its Neighbors on Saturday, October 21, 2000
What: Share the Health: An Exposition of Health Resources from NIH to Its Neighbors. The third annual community health forum sponsored by the NIH Office of Community Liaison features free health-related information, exhibits by NIH institutes, lectures, health screenings, computer demonstrations on how to access health information on the Internet, tours of the National Library of Medicine, dance workshops, volunteer opportunities, and activities for the entire family. Potential lecture topics include the human genome; Alzheimer's disease and caregiving; women's health; depression; teaching your child to read; learning disabilities; eye, ear, and oral health; alcoholism; health disparities research; drug abuse; and sleep deprivation.
When: Saturday, October 21, 2000 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
